Black Queer Canon is a digital archive of Black LGBTQ+ visibility on screen. Curated by journalists Tre’vell Anderson and Mikelle Street, this is the homepage for both the sung and unsung Black queer and trans characters of scripted TV and film.
As the preservation of Black queer and trans stories becomes more vital, Black Queer Canon is a platform that gives credit where it’s due — at once interrogating the canon and establishing one anew, where our stories matter. Alongside a web presence, the primary arm of Black Queer Canon is a seasonal podcast of the same name available on YouTube and wherever slayworthy audio is streamed.
